Itinerary

Your Dendera & Abydos day tour with Blue Rays Tours begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or Nile cruise in Luxor. You will travel north in a private air-conditioned vehicle to Abydos, one of the most important religious sites in ancient Egypt.

At Abydos Temple, built by Seti I and completed by his son Ramses II, you will explore beautifully carved reliefs considered among the finest in Egypt. Inside the temple, you will see the famous King List of Abydos, which records the names of ancient pharaohs. The temple was dedicated to Osiris, the god of the afterlife, making it a major pilgrimage site in antiquity.

Next, you will continue to Dendera Temple, dedicated to Hathor, the goddess of love and joy. This remarkably preserved temple features colorful ceiling paintings, detailed hieroglyphs, rooftop chapels, and the legendary Dendera Zodiac. You will also have the opportunity to explore underground crypts with fascinating reliefs. After completing your visits, you will return comfortably to Luxor in the late afternoon.
